While rereading the post of my initial ideas of the “cathedral” tent, I had a couple of thoughts and questions:
- Does the top strut need to be symmetric?Or would it be possible to move the middle tent pole forward, leaving more space to sleep?
- Would it be a matter of moving the bottom, or could also the top be moved?
- Could two longer poles hold up the ends of the top strut? This would leave lots of space in the middle but obstruct the window and the door.
- Could the connecting piece be bent straight and a 40cm piece be cut in half? Then the middle part would be wider and the pole pieces shorter. Or should it be wider at the top?
- How do the mosquito netting zipper and the waterproof zipper interact? Could the mosquito netting just be held in place by magnets? That would make it easier to get in and out too.

8 pole sections weigh 160g
Total 590g, but I’m only using half of the groundsheet and I’ll cut the poles shorter.
